Happy March Break, Bowmore families!
This month's newsletter is now available (click here) and as usual you won't want to miss it!
Highlights include:- March break is March 14-18-- have fun!
- Students raised over $1,000 for Free the Children's "Build a Well" Campaign, helping children in India.
- Anti-Bullying events at Bowmore in March.
- Announcing February's Eco Heroes: Mason B and Chris H!
Some shocking data from our waste audit... know what's in Bowmore's garbage? (Hint: it's not actually garbage.) - Students in grades 3-6 are busy polishing their genie lamps and drama skills for Bowmore's production of "Aladdin Junior," to take place in May
- Information about fee-based "Mad Scientists" and Musical Theatre programs starting later this spring.
- Information about Bowmore's free "PALS" tutoring program.
- Congratulations to our Junior Girls' Volleyball team, Senior Hockey Team and all our budding athletes at Bowmore!
- Library & Book Club news, including Bowmore's receipt of the TDSB "Just Read It" award!
- Aboriginal theatre in-school performance of Drew Hayden Taylor's "Raven Stole the Sun" April 1.
- Math Club fun... students in grades 3-8 are preparing for the Math Contest, can you compete?
- Lots of opportunities for School Council volunteers, varying time commitments, including the vital Treasurer role.

- Report cards this Tuesday!
- Pumpkinhead, Bowmore's bearded dragon who lives in the library, found love just in time for Valentine's Day!
- Lots of Literacy week activities and goings-on in the library, and a call for parent volunteers to help out.
- Announcing January's Eco Hero: Dakota K (a grade 3 expert on Litterless Lunches), and watch for our Eco Hero logo design contest!
- Parents of Grade 8 students, watch for course selection sheets to come home soon.
- Kindergarten registration starts this week!

Bowmore Family Literacy Night this Monday
For students in grades JK - 6 and their parents/guardians.WHEN: Monday, January 24, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
WHERE: Bowmore Senior Gym.

Join the Bowmore junior community for a fun evening that combines storytelling with drama. Help bring multicultural folktales and myths to life, while learning storytelling skills that you can use in your home to improve your kids' literacy.
